When I was young, I used to hate being in front of the camera. A memory that I have during that time had me crying after my parents sneaked a shot of me. I was probably at least eight by then… I realized the importance of these kind of memories during my first summer job working at a funeral home. Pictures are all we have to remember our cherished memories and how we would share those memories with those that weren’t there. I’ve come to really regret my photo averse young self.

The happy moments, the sad moments, and the quiet moments within time all become valuable memories that we will want to share with our friends and family. I know I wish I had let my parents capture more moments like that when I was younger so I could one day show my kids. To be able to help capture those moments for other people makes me happy. It almost feels redemptive. It makes me happy thinking that the pictures I make can potentially be something that will provide happiness and perhaps the seed of new memories when they are shared with future generations.

Thanks for caring about who I am, now may I learn more about you?
